We have three campus locations and one in San Francisco that is specifically for low vision patients. The parking arrangement is different at each location. See below for details.
Meredith Morgan Eye Center
There are three options for parking at the Meredith Morgan Eye Center. Click on the plus sign to learn more about each option.
Cost is $3 for up to 3 hours.
On weekdays obtain a permit from our parking attendant in the kiosk near our building.
On Saturdays and Sundays, and anytime the parking attendant is unavailable, parking permits can be obtained from our Patient Services staff at our front desk.
Park alongside Minor Hall in any of our designated Optometry (OPT) spaces. Parking in a space that is not Optometry designated will result in a parking citation from campus Parking and Transportation.
Detach the bottom perforated portion of the permit and present it at our Patient Services front desk for payment. Place the matching top portion of the permit in your vehicle, clearly displayed on your dashboard. A valid parking permit must be displayed in your vehicle at all times while visiting the University Eye Center.
$2 for 3 hours with validation.
There are spaces reserved for optometry patients in the Maxwell Parking Structure next to Memorial stadium. This parking structure is a 5 minute walk down a fairly steep hill to our clinic.
The Maxwell parking structure is located at 2175 Gayley Road in Berkeley, at the corner of Gayley and Stadium Rim Way. Upon entry to the Maxwell Garage, collect the white entry card and park in one of our reserved spaces, located on the ground floor, in the NE corner.
Present your white entry card at check-out after your appointment to purchase a validation ticket. Validation tickets are good for up to 3 hours of parking and cost $2. When returning to your vehicle, find a parking payment kiosk and insert the white entry card first. Once your card has been read and accepted, insert the validation ticket. Use your validated card to exit the garage.
The City of Berkeley offers metered parking options at a variety of walking distances to our clinic.
Tang Eye Center
The Tang Eye Center is located on the third floor of the University Health Center at 2222 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94720. There are no designated spots for optometry patients, but metered street parking is available on nearby streets.

San Francisco Lighthouse Eye Center
Located at 1155 Market Street, Suite 1050 San Francisco, CA 94103, the SF Lighthouse is for our low vsion patients. Because of the proximity to public transit, we encourage most of our visitors to take advantage of this and leave their cars at home. If you need to drive, though, there are many paid parking options in the area. Visit the Lighthouse website for details.
