About Dr. Johnson
Dr. Johnson is an optometrist and vision therapist with a varied background and several areas of expertise. Her earliest discovered passion is pediatrics, particularly working with children who need glasses, vision therapy (physical therapy for the eyes) or help with learning difficulties. She continues to care for this type of patient in a local private practice. At UC Berkeley she sees adult and teen concussion rehabilitation patients in the Sport Vision and Concussion clinic. Seeing concussion patients progress in their rehabilitation programs is one of the most fulfilling parts of her job. She loves being part of the multidisciplinary concussion team and the opportunity to connect with patients. Dr. Johnson also teaches in the primary care clinic where she particularly enjoys fitting soft multifocal contact lenses, managing dry eye and using her optical background to troubleshoot prescriptions and lens designs. Recently Dr. Johnson accepted a position teaching in pre-clinic with second year students. She is incredibly excited to be able to teach with all students passing through the school and to bring in her experience from private practice, optical and primary care clinic into the program.
